Futydose: Three Things We Learned From PL Gameweek 6

Gameweek 6 proved to be a really thrilling one. Liverpool and Man City recorded thumping wins, while Chelsea could only draw with West Ham and Man Utd were held by Wolves. In other results, Burnley returned to form spectacularly by thrashing Bournemouth. So here are the 3 things we learned from PL Gameweek 6:

1) Brilliant Burnley

Before this gameweek, everyone was worried for Burnley. They had struggled in the PL and were clearly impacted by their European adventure, although that was short lived. This weekend they played the kind of football that would suit any big team. They smashed four goals past Bournemouth and managed to blow them away. To be honest, no one saw this result coming, since Burnley were in the relegation zone and Bournemouth were flying. But how the tables have turned this week! Hats off to Sean Dyche!

2) Wonderous Wolves

Since their promotion to the PL, Wolves have managed to impress a lot of people. Their style of play under their Portuguese boss Santo has been wonderful to watch. And they continued this trend against Man Utd at Old Trafford. Although United took the lead via Fred, Wolves roared back into the contest via a cracking goal by Moutinho. Wolves managed to get a point and could have gotten even more if Traore had not missed so many chances!

3) City Cruise

Man City cruised to a win over Cardiff by smashing 5 goals past them. Although Cardiff started the game well, they could not hold out for long as City started to get behind their defence. After a point, it became evident that City will hand them a thrashing. Under pressure, they started making even more mistakes and City romped to a 5-0 win thanks to 2 goals from Mahrez. The signs are ominous for City’s rivals!

To sum up, it was a great week of footballing action in the PL. The way Man City demolished a resolute Cardiff team, they remain favourites for the title. Liverpool lost midweek in the Carabao Cup and Chelsea drew with West Ham in the PL, further boosting the claim that City could win the title again!
