Crickdose: Three Things We Learned From India’s ODI Series Win In Australia

India have won their first bilateral ODI series in Australia. This comes on the back of them winning their first test series in Australia as well. This is truly a remarkable achievement for the Indian team considering all the years of going to Australia and getting beaten comfortably. So here are the top three things that we learned from India’s ODI series win in Australia:

1) Dashing Dhoni

Dhoni was sensational for India throughout the series. He made a fifty in each of the matches. He anchored India’s chase in all of these matches. His wonderful hitting in the final ODI was crucial for India as they managed to chase down a small yet tricky target. His partnership with Jadhav proved to be crucial and Dhoni has shown the world that he is far from finished!

2) King Kohli

Yes, Kohli did not do too well with the bat in this series. However, his captaincy skills came to the fore and India managed to win the series. Also, his knock of 46 in the most crucial game of the series proved to be critical. He also ensured that India remained in the chase and in the end registered an easy win.

3) Rocking Richardson

Australia have found a real gem in Jhye Richardson. This young fast bowler performed really well in the series and managed to dismiss Virat Kohli thrice. He was instrumental in Australia taking the lead in the series and giving a tough competition to India throughout the series. He certainly seems to have a bright future ahead!

To sum up, it has been a great ODI series for the Indians. Despite the best efforts of Jhye Richardson, they have managed to win the series 2-1 and retained their 2nd position in the ICC ODI rankings. On they go to New Zealand next!
