The ICC World Cup is finally here. The best 10 teams from around the world are fighting for the ultimate cricketing glory. The first week of the tournament has thrown of some surprising results. So here are the top three things that we learned from the first week of the World Cup:

1) Wonderful Windies

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the tournament till now has been the Windies’ superb win over Pakistan. Nobody expected their pacers to do so well. They managed to bowl out Pakistan cheaply and then chased down the target with ease. The Windies are a well-balanced side and they can challenge for the trophy.

2) England Shocked

England managed to beat South Africa comfortably in their opening match. This win reinforced their tag of favourites. They were expected to hammer Pakistan as well. However, they were shocked by Pakistan in their second match. This defeat showed that this England team is still vulnerable and can be defeated.

3) Cunning Kiwis

The Kiwis are the dark horses of this tournament. They have already managed to hammer Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in their opening match. The manner of their victory will give them great confidence and they will be hoping to take the momentum of this win into the next matches. The Kiwis should not be underestimated by any means!

To sum up, it is clear that this is going to be one of the most closely fought World Cups in recent history. There are no clear favourites anymore after Pakistan stunned England. 4-5 teams will feel that they have a chance to win it!
