The second test between India and the Windies followed a similar script as the first one. The Windies were unable to compete with India, despite showing some glimpses of their talent. So, here are the top three things that we learned from India’s test series win over the Windies:
1) Brilliant Bumrah
This series has shown us that Jasprit Bumrah is a world-class performer. He has performed well on a consistent basis, and he has the ability to adapt to the conditions very quickly. Bumrah has shown great control, and he managed to pick up a hat-trick as well. He is certainly the future of the Indian bowling attack.
2) Superb Vihari
Vihari is an underrated player who has the ability to be a consistent performer. He managed to score a century in the first innings of the second test, while also contributing a half-century in the second innings. He could be the answer to India’s middle-order woes of recent times. Vihari needs to keep up this form and show his capabilities on a consistent basis.
3) Raging Roach
The Windies had a really poor series. There was not much to write home about. However, there was one player who proved how good he is. Kemar Roach had a superb series with the ball. He could easily have got a hat-trick as well. His bowling average places him among the best pacers ever produced by the Windies.
To sum up, the test series proved to be a one-sided affair. India managed to continue their winning streak and are now leading the World Test Championship. But their next challenge could prove to be a tricky one – South Africa are looking to bounce back from a disappointing World Cup. Exciting times ahead.
