Crickdose: Three Things To Look Forward To During The India vs. South Africa Test Series

The test series between India and South Africa begins tomorrow. It is expected to be a close battle because the two teams have been doing well in test cricket. So, here are the top three things to look forward to during the India vs. South Africa test series:

1) Rohit Gamble

India have decided to take a punt on Rohit Sharma. The dashing one-day opener will be given a chance as a test opener. It is a big gamble because Rohit’s Test career has seen him achieve mixed results. Nevertheless, he will be hopeful of a good performance, as he is already 32 years of age and may not get too many more chances in test cricket.

2) Markram Potential

Aiden Markram is one of the best young players in the game. The South African opener has already shown his class by winning the Under 19 World Cup for his side in 2014. However, his performances at senior level have not been as good. He will be hoping to prove himself against India in India. If he does well, it will be a great boost for him and his side.

3) Rabada Brilliance

Kagiso Rabada is already one of the best bowlers in test cricket. He has the skills to trouble the best of batsmen. This will be a great opportunity for him to showcase his skills with the red ball. Indian pitches are not likely to be very supportive. However, he has the ability to succeed in all conditions and will hope to show his class once again.

To sum up, this series is likely to be a closely fought one. Both teams will look to start off in a strong manner. India will be hoping to make the most of their home advantage, while South Africa will look to prove themselves in the subcontinent.
